How to Delete Your DontSnooze Account and Data
Deleting your DontSnooze account does not cancel a Pro subscription — that's separate, through Apple. Here's the exact deletion process, the 7-day email timeline, and what data leaves the system versus what briefly remains.

Deleting your DontSnooze account does not cancel DontSnooze Pro. They’re two separate systems — the account lives on DontSnooze’s servers, the subscription is billed by Apple — and deleting one has no effect on the other. If you skip the Apple step, you can delete your account today and still see a charge next week.
Handle that first.
Cancel Pro before (or right after) you delete
Go to iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → DontSnooze → Cancel Subscription. That’s the only place a DontSnooze subscription can be cancelled — the app itself doesn’t hold your card details, so there’s no in-app “cancel” button to look for. This is the same process covered in more detail in the pricing FAQ, if you want to confirm your billing cycle before you cancel.
Two ways to delete the account itself
In-app, if you have access: Settings → Account → Delete Account → type DELETE to confirm. This is the faster route. Your account and personal data come out of active systems right away, not on some future batch job.
By email, if you’re locked out or don’t have the app anymore: send a message to contact@simplescale.tech with the subject “Delete my account.” Include your username if you remember it, and the phone number or email you originally signed in with — that’s how they verify it’s actually your account. Processing takes up to 7 days, and you’ll get a confirmation email when it’s done. That’s slower than the in-app path, but it’s the correct fallback, not a workaround.
What actually gets deleted
Everything tied to you as a person: your profile (username, display name, bio, avatar, contact info), every alarm, challenge, schedule, and sub-task, your full history, anything sitting in the punishment pool, your proof recordings, any exposed photos on your profile, your follow relationships and witness records, your posted stories and reactions, your push notification tokens, your analytics profile, and the account and login records themselves.
What might stick around briefly, and why
A few things aren’t instant, for reasons that are worth stating plainly rather than glossing over:
- Encrypted backups, for up to 30 days, then overwritten in the normal backup cycle. Nobody’s actively looking at these — they exist because that’s how backup systems work, not because your data is being retained on purpose.
- A minimal deletion-event record — a timestamp, a hashed version of your user ID, and a reason if you gave one. This exists for anti-abuse and legal compliance, not for anything about you personally.
- Aggregated, anonymized analytics that were never tied to your identity in a way that can be reversed.
None of that is proof you can post to, contact you, or reconstruct your account.
If something looks wrong
If a charge shows up after you deleted your account, that’s the Apple subscription step above, not a bug in the deletion process — go cancel it directly through Subscriptions. For anything else, the real deletion page is at /delete-account, and general support is at /support or contact@simplescale.tech, with replies typically within one business day. If you’re weighing whether to stay before you pull the trigger, what DontSnooze’s data handling looks like more broadly is worth a read first.
